BitMine Expands Ethereum Staking Strategy#

BitMine Immersion Technologies is reinforcing its long-term commitment to Ethereum after Chairman Tom Lee said the company's decision to stake its growing ETH holdings reflects strong confidence in the blockchain's future.

The company currently holds more than 833,100 ETH, valued at approximately $3 billion, making it the largest publicly traded Ethereum treasury company. Rather than leaving those assets idle, BitMine plans to stake a substantial portion to earn recurring rewards while continuing to benefit from any appreciation in ETH's price.

Lee described staking as more than a yield strategy, arguing it demonstrates the firm's conviction in Ethereum as institutional adoption accelerates.

Ethereum Treasury Race Heats Up#

BitMine's latest move comes as a growing number of publicly traded companies compete to build large Ethereum treasuries.

Among its closest rivals is SharpLink Gaming, which holds roughly 868,700 ETH worth about $1.5 billion. The Ether Machine follows with nearly 496,700 ETH, while Bit Digital has accumulated about 158,500 ETH. Other notable corporate holders include Coinbase with more than 151,000 ETH, BTCS with around 70,800 ETH, and Galaxy Digital, which also maintains a sizable Ethereum treasury.

Unlike traditional corporate treasury strategies that simply hold digital assets, many of these firms are staking their ETH to generate additional revenue while helping secure the Ethereum network.

Institutional Demand Continues to Grow#

The rise of Ethereum treasury companies highlights a broader shift in institutional crypto investing. While Bitcoin remains the dominant corporate treasury asset, Ethereum is attracting companies because it offers an additional source of return through staking.

For BitMine, that combination of long-term price exposure and staking income forms the core of its strategy. As more public companies adopt similar approaches, competition to accumulate Ethereum could continue to intensify, further strengthening the network's institutional footprint.
